Composer. Tonmeister. Sound Director: I help artists, institutions and companies develop sophisticated audio projects: from the first concept to the final production. Max-Lukas Hundelshausen (*1991) is a German composer, sound engineer, and sound designer with a Master’s degree (with distinction) in Sound Direction and Composition from the renowned Erich-Thienhaus-Institute in Detmold. He later became a master student of Wolfgang Rihm in Karlsruhe and has completed his doctoral course (Dr. phil.) at Paderborn University on the preservation of electroacoustic music. Throughout his career, he has been honored with numerous national and international awards – including the ad libitum Baden-Württemberg Composition Prize, multiple Federal Composition Prizes of Jeunesses Musicales Germany, and the First Prize from the Berlin Philharmonic. He also received several artist residencies, the Deutschlandstipendium, the Friedrich-Naumann-Stipendium für die Freiheit, and was nominated by the State of North Rhine-Westphalia for a residency at Villa Massimo Rome. His works have been performed by leading ensembles such as Ensemble Modern, members of the Berlin Philharmonic, and the Rhenish Philharmonic State Orchestra, at prestigious venues including the Berlin Philharmonie, Deutsche Oper am Rhein, and the Darmstadt Summer Courses for New Music. In addition to concert works, Hundelshausen has composed music for theater and film, collaborating with award-winning directors such as Thomas Riedelsheimer and Jan Riesenbeck. As a recording producer and sound designer, he has worked with institutions like the Bavarian State Opera Munich, Nationaltheater Mannheim, and Mainfranken Theater Würzburg. Today, he works as a freelance composer, producer, and sound designer in the Frankfurt am Main region, combining artistic excellence with technical precision. He also teaches at Bauhaus University Weimar, Paderborn University, and in his own studio.

As an award winning composer, tonmeister and music designer, I combine artistic vision with technical expertise. This allows me to support projects from the first conceptual idea to the final production stage – ensuring that creative intentions are translated into
convincing and unique sonic results.
